The claims are underlain by Late Triassic intrusions comprised of granite to granodiorite with associated quartz veining. The intrusive is slightly chloritized and epidotized.
Eocene to Oligocene Endako Formation volcanics of the Nechako Plateau Group overlie the granodioritic stock. The volcanics are comprised of amygdaloidal andesite, porphyritic andesite, andesite and breccia. The amygdaloidal rocks host calcite amygdules and are very magnetic.
Mineralization in the intrusive consists of disseminations of chalcopyrite throughout the granitic rock.
Work History
The Red 1-24 claims were owned in 1969 by Falconbridge Nickel Mines, Limited. During the year Canadian Superior Exploration Limited held an option on the property and carried out magnetic, electromagnetic, and geochemical soil surveys.
In 2012, an aeromagnetic program was conducted over the Flute and Lennac properties by Riverside Resources (BC) Inc. The total covered area was 813 square kilometres and the total survey line coverage was 4,444 line kilometres (Assessment Report 33032, 33707F). The Red occurrence was covered by this survey.
